AI assistants get things wrong. They invent citations and dates. The steps here tell the assistant not to, and tell it to quote your documents exactly rather than summarize them — but you are still the one who has to check. Nothing goes out with your name on it that you have not read.
When the stakes are high, bring what you build to a lawyer. Your state bar association runs a referral service, and lawhelp.org lists free and low-cost legal help by state.
A volunteer project, given away free. It came out of one person’s real dispute; everything specific to that case was removed and everything repeatable was kept. It is open source, so anyone can read exactly what it tells the assistant to do, and lawyers are welcome to correct it.
